PDtrials.org has created this editorial policy in order to allow our visitors to evaluate the information presented on this website. PDtrials.org reserves the right to change its editorial policies as necessary. Any changes will be identified here and displayed prominently throughout the site.

Mission Statement

PDtrials.org is committed to bringing information on Parkinson's disease trials to people with Parkinson's disease, their friends and families. PDtrials.org provides this information in two unique ways:
1) PDtrials.org is focused solely on Parkinson's disease clinical trials.
2) PDtrials.org provides this information in simple and non-technical language.

Content

PDtrials.org produces new summary descriptions of official clinical trial protocols. It is the official trial protocol that has been reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) following the guidelines set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Each clinical trial description includes a link to the original, official trial protocol when available. IRB approval has not been sought for the trial descriptions produced by PDtrials.org, in accordance with the Food and Drug Modernization Act of 1997.

The PDtrials.org site includes informational content on Parkinson's disease intended to provide a basic background for understanding the clinical trial descriptions. This content is written by people from the Parkinson's disease community and edited by the PDtrials.org writing staff and our medical advisors. Also included in the site are “news” items. These are periodically updated features taken from the press or other print media, or written by PDtrials.org staff or patient advocacy groups invited by PDtrials.org to address a particular subject. To supplement the content found on the site, PDtrials.org also provides links to other web sites that may be of interest to visitors to our site. We do not receive any payment for listing these sites.

Trial information on PDtrials.org is updated on a regular basis. All trial descriptions include the date they were first posted to the site and the date they were last updated. News items are updated on a quarterly basis and carry the date they were written.

The content on PDtrials.org is for your information only.
