Summary

This study uses advanced imaging to learn what is unique about the brains of people who have inherited Parkinson's disease.  Parkinson's DiseaseA chronic, slowly progressive disease of the nervous system characterized by the combination of tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia and stooped posture, among other symptoms. This trial will study chemical activity and blood flow in the brain of a person that has Parkinson's disease, together with their family members who do not have the disease. Participants in this trial will undergo 2 types of advanced imaging of the brain (Magnetic Resonance Imaging  Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)A non-invasive technique that uses magnetism to create detailed pictures of the inside of the human body. or MRI and Positron Emission Tomography or PET scan). This trial does not treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
