Tools for Support Groups
If you are a member of a regional or local Parkinson’s organization or support group you can help increase education and awareness about clinical research throughout your own community by:
- Discussing clinical research participation and distributing PDtrials education and awareness materials at meetings and conferences. Getting Involved in Parkinson's Clinical Research: A guide to understanding how you can play a part in moving Parkinson's research forward.
Parkinson's Clinical Trials. This bi-annual print bulletin lists trials that are actively seeking patient volunteers, providing a hard-copy version of the trials that are posted on www.PDtrials.org. - Linking to www.PDtrials.org on the home page of your organization’s website.
- Placing an article about clinical research participation and the availability of information and resources such as the PDtrials website and print materials in your online and print communications.
- Sending an email to your members telling them about www.PDtrials.org and encouraging them to visit the website, sign up for regular email updates, and order free print materials.
- Placing an educational ad about www.PDtrials.org in your newsletter.
